VR ready 4DOF Motion simulators
are ready to use with a VR headsets especially Oculus Rift CV1, Oculus Rift HD, HTC VIVE, Valve Index or Pimax (we also prepare a support for other VR headsets).
The basic problem of motion simulators is, that movement of simulator (cockpit) is recognized also in VR headset, because most of VR headsets are using sensitive gyroscopic sensors inside a headset and detect any motions including motion of simulator. At this moment happen a problem, that cockpit movement is transported into a virtual scenery and game do not have any information about a difference between head movement (must be transported into game virtual scene) and cockpit movement (must not be transported into game virtual scene).
We have done a solution for that by a special software bridge between VR headset and game using a data of cockpit position/movement for correction of movement in virtual scene.
VR ready simulator's PC hardware passed recommended hardware specification for VR devices.
VR ready simulators have also special outputs necessary for VR device accessories (positional tracking camera, headset power supply, etc.).
Our motion software automatically detect connected VR headset (connection via SteamVR) and switch a preset profile to VR mode and also start a movement correction functions - motion compensation.
VR is possible only for 4x4 (4-leg) models of simulators.
We have tested motion compensation for games using SteamVR with these VR headsets: HTC Vive, HTC Vive Pro 2, Valve Index and Pimax 5K, Varjo.
For best VR experience we recommend VR headsets with high resolution, with high frame rate and using external sensors (like lighthouse, tracking camera, etc.) for better correction of position in 3d virtual space.
These VR games passed our tests on our 4DOF Extreme 4x4 simulators:
- Assetto Corsa
- DiRT Rally
- DiRT Rally 2.0
- Live for Speed
- Project Cars
- Project Cars 2
- RaceRoom Racing Experience
- rFactor 2
- Richard Burns Rally
- NoLimits 2 - roller coaster simulator
